Mental Health Awareness Week 2025

This year the week takes place from 12th – 18th May. The focus word for this year is ‘community’. We are social creatures and as humans we need connection with others. When we feel part of a community, we generally do better and feel happier. We have better physical and mental health. We feel a sense of belonging, have a sense of purpose and even live longer. In times of need, there is nothing like knowing your community has your back.

Communities are important whether they are family, a group of friends, work colleagues, a club such as gardening or a sports team. As a Therapist it can be a lonely experience at times. That is why I am part of a couple of different Therapist communities that support each other and share common interests. This ensures I have a community I can rely on. I am part of something that is bigger than me.
